.SYNOPSIS...A quasi-stationary front will remain in place
oriented SW to NE across the waters today through Thu night,
while strong high pressure builds E from New England across the
northern portions. Low pressure just E of the S central waters
this morning will drift very slowly N today and tonight through
Fri night while strengthening, reaching Georges Bank late Fri
night. The low will pull a cold front through the southern waters
today through Thu night. Strong counterflow to the Gulf Stream
will create large, very steep, and possibly breaking waves
resulting in a particularly hazardous sea state. The low will
move just N of the area early Sat, then remain nearly stationary
through Sun night, while high pressure builds SE across the S
waters. Mariners should continue monitoring forecasts for the low
pressure, and consider avoidance plans as needed. This will be a
long duration event, impactful to the mariner.
