.SYNOPSIS FOR NEW ENGLAND WATERS...Low pressure well offshore of
the North and South Carolina coasts will rapidly intensify into
a hurricane-force system as it moves northeast to near 40N65W by
late this evening. Mariners should exercise avoidance now! The
low will move slowly east-southeast late tonight and Tuesday,
moving well out into the north Atlantic by Tuesday night. Behind
the low, high pressure will build over the area, with a cold
front approaching the waters Tuesday evening. The front slowly
moves south overnight Tuesday and Wednesday, becoming nearly
stationary off of the mid-Atlantic coast Wednesday and Wednesday
night, and then moves north as a warm front Thursday and
Thursday night ahead of low pressure over the Great Lakes. A cold
front approaches from the west late Thursday and moves through
much of the area by Friday, becoming nearly stationary over the
southern waters Friday and Friday night.
