February 10, 2021 - Soliciting Comments on Discontinuing the OPC Marine Weather Discussion (MIM) Effective March 12, 2021. The NWS National Centers for Environmental Prediction's (NCEP) Ocean Prediction Center (OPC) is accepting comments until March 12, 2021, on a proposal to discontinue the Marine Weather Discussion (MIM) text product produced by the OPC.
May 7, 2020 - National Safe Boating Week is May 16-22. The NWS and the National Safe Boating Council will partner again this year to highlight relevant weather topics, safety advice and recreational boating resources.

The SST composites are generated from the NOAA NESDIS ACSPO (Advanced Clear Sky Processor for Ocean) 0.02º Level 3 product from the new-generation Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) sensor onboard the GOES-16 (East) satellite.
